51 and 52

Two cards I made at the same time. Identical except for the stamp and ribbon colour. I think I'd make this again but change the brown scallop circle to a more contrasting colour. I'd love to make some in red!

cards

This top card is the closest colour to what they really are. I made these on black card, they're very pretty.

41 and 42

Two new cards tonight. I made this pink one first this afternoon...and I love it! It's flowers stamped onto watercolour card then I used a water pen and watercolour crayons to colour the insides. Layer onto black card stock then tie a bit ribbon bow and layer onto a co-ordinating card base. SOOO quick and easy and it doesnt even matter if you colour outside the lines! I think I'll make this card again in future as I have many crayon colours!

40!

So I've reached 40 cards for the year which is quite a shameful total but my niece enjoys card making so maybe she'll encourage me.

These first two are a design I've made before but they're cute, fast and easy!

This one is inspired from a card I saw on the internet. The red is carried through into the middle of the card so it isnt as isolated as it may seem.

And there would be two of this blue one but I stuffed up the second one TWICE before saying, "Yeah ok I need sleep before I can continue making cards."

busy

I haven't posted here for a while, but that is NOT to say I haven't been making cards because I have! The vast majority of them made at 2-4am so don't look too closely lol.

I made one of this first card. The reddy-orange wording was just because I had a half made card and wanted it to be useable.

This one I've made a few versions of. I made it in red, white and another colour but I've sent it and I cant find the photo. This version was for my friend Sheryl's birthday and I think I made three slightly different versions (one got sent to my friend Regina for her birthday):

I made this one tonight. Mostly because I bought that lace stuff on the left at kmart. It's enough for 9 cards and was about $2 or $3. The swirly flower pattern is raised up. Not sure if I like this card:

But this one came out super pretty. The photo does NOT do it justice! The fowers are also embossed (raised up):

And again, raised embossing. I was having an embossing night tonight lol. This photographed badly because I didnt use the flash and it is after 4am...but it is quite neutral an pretty. It is white card and ink called 'crumb cake':

This one I made tonight. This one is heat embossed which is like melting a powder over the stamp. Of the three panels, the middle one is raised (and therefore I had to raise the right hand side of the greeting so it would sit flat lol).

This card I started and hated...so when I got home I put some buttons on it and thought, "I'll use this to send to Bianca, she wont mind!" Not my best work peoples, but it doesnt matter because I tried and it got used at the end of the day.

More mushrooms, this time with a green sentiment. The colour match is much better in person (this time I used the flash). I made four copies of this card:

Two copies of this card. The paper on the bottom is kinda glossy:

And I also made two copies of this card. As you can tell, I was in need of some bulk card making that night...I was almost out of happy birthday cards! This card is actually very pretty in person:

This card drove me mental! Normally I use card weight on everything but this floral pattern (with built in glitter sheen) was paper weight and I could NOT get it to cut straight...I'll never use it again I can tell you right now lol. I made two of it and one is gone already.

This card was weird! A few cards up you can see it in reverse, with brown on bottom and floral on top. When I did that, I realised that I couldnt use the same stamp because it looked all WRONG. Since I was at Sheryl's house I didnt have my normal supply range so I just had to make do. It's useable but really not beautiful lol:

And I've saved the worst for last! This card is HORRIBLE. Actually there are two of them. They are too flat. They need dimension so I will be dragging them out of my drawer to add something to them to see if I can turn them into useable cards. Right now I wouldnt send them to anyone. The black flowers are glossy and the spots behind them match the blue paper but it just isnt right (yet). I'll fix them though-mark my words lol.

Card making

The last few days I've been making cards in the evening. First with my friend Sheryl and last night while keeping Ryan company downstairs.

Ahh, owls. Well they were a bit fiddly to make because you have to punch out everything (three layers of eyes, chest plate and the actual owl) and glue them together. They are on stampin' up card stock (kraft) and I simply went around them with white gel pen and stamped an greeting below. The funniest thing was I couldnt find much to put underneath them because those three sets of eyes kept making me laugh.

Congratulations! o_O
Guess who loves you! o_O

And then I had this genius idea and it made me laugh!

This card was just because I had butterflies laying around so I slapped it on, I'll use it to write a letter to one of my nieces rather than as an actual card because it's not good enough for that:

This card was one I saw on the internet and I thought 'quick and simple'. It was the card I made before the owls. I know it is really quite a simple card but it's sweet anyway:

These will likely be used as sympathy cards...but sometimes you need them for other reasons, making them a really useful card. I've made it in blue/brown before but I like this better.

This one I made for my husband's cousin's son (my second-cousin-in-law?) who was turning 18. I really dont much like making cards for men because they're difficult with the stamps I have (and the way my mind works) but I couldnt NOT make one for an 18th birthday:

And this one was made because the middle (greeting) part was left over from the card above. I was trialling different colour ideas and decided on the one above...but actually I prefer the colours of the one below now that I've added it onto some blue cardstock. I dont know if I want to decorate it further or leave it plain.

Cards 1-4 of 2012

Hello! I took some time out to make cards today, after realising I only made 46 cards the entire of last year. That's not even one per week!

Card one: this is pretty much white, black and real red card stock. I embossed white card stock (covering one side of the embossing folder in black ink) for the patterned/raised paper in the background. The tree was a stamp I bought in USA on my recent trip there. I got the idea for this from a youtube video but I cant find it to share the link. This is one of my two favourite cards of the day because it's 'Heather' colours.

Card two: This is such a cute card in person, this just doesnt do it justice! It is very vanilla card stock and crumb cake inkpad. The embossing across the top is a little embossing card I got in USA. It created a little dent in the card so I hid it with ribbon lol. The stamp was stamped once, moved slightly left (without re-inking) and stamped then moved right (again, no re-inking). I also dusted it around the edge using the same ink and a bit of sponge. So first up is a photograph, below it was my attempt to put it in the scanner-yuck!

Card three: The same with a different sentiment

2011: I just realised that this card is actually from last year, I made it between Christmas and new years! I dont really like it, but that's ok, I just give those cards to Bianca to use up lol.

Card four: Ok this card was really annoying me. I tried three times to get it straight and still havent succeeded, so the front will be ripped off and re-aligned tomorrow lol. I'm not sure if you can see but there are actually flowers on the yellow too.

2011: This was a 21st card for my friend Gita. I havent actually given it to her yet though (naughty me). I used pretty paper that she gave me for HER birthday!
